How much time commitment is required?
Minimal. Demo Day is one session. If you invest, optional monthly check-ins with portfolio companies take 30-60 minutes. Many angels choose to mentor more actively, but it’s not required.
Can I attend Demo Days remotely?
We accommodate remote participation via video for international angels. However, in-person attendance is strongly encouraged—the booth sessions where you interact with prototypes provide insights you won’t get from pitch decks alone.
What’s the minimum investment?
$10K per startup at Angel Demo Day. Most angels invest in 2-4 startups per cohort to diversify, so typical total commitment is $20K-$100K per cohort.
What happens if a startup doesn’t reach its funding target?
If a startup raises below its minimum viable amount, funds are returned. Speed2Seed’s 70-85% target success rate means this is uncommon, but investor protection is built in.
Can I invest in Seed Demo Day without participating in Angel Demo Day?
Yes, but Angel Demo Day investors receive pro-rata rights and preferential terms at Seed Demo Day. Early support is rewarded.
What’s the expected return profile?
Early-stage investing is high risk/high reward. Typical angel portfolios see 50-70% failures, 20-30% modest returns, and 5-10% significant successes. Speed2Seed’s validation reduces failure rates, but we can’t guarantee returns.
Can I invest in startups from multiple cities?
